awwwww Kev
I took him to the vet to remove his staples. The vet was very pleased with him progress and said he will definitely walk again, swim, run in the park and do most of the things he loves doing; which is such a HUGE relief!!!
The only think though, Shrike can never be the 100% dog he was... he can be 90%. He won't be able to 'play rough' with other dogs at the dog park anymore, and when he does play with other dogs I have to keep an eye on him so he won't jump too much etc... kinds sucks, because Shrike was Mr.Dog Park before this all happened :/
So now I have to start physio-therapy for him and make sure to heal him with a lot of love (which is never hard
)
The most amazing thing about this whole thing though,
is that Islay sleeps near him in the living room now... it sounds crazy, but she has a little bed on my couch she uses RARELY but mainly she sleeps on top of my CDs in the other room (some cats love high places to feel 'safe' )
well, ever since Shrike was injured, he has to sleep in a crate, because he can't go on steps YET (and that's where I sleep, on the second floor, and that's where his bed is) so anyways, because he has to be in a crate, he is in the living room. Islay has sleeping on her little doughnut bed ever since!
By his side!!
I'm not kidding, I think that's awesome
