D'Addario cancelling their Player's Points program

It's true. As of March 31 2012, she's gone. According to them, they set up the program to make sure that the packages were being recycled. They say that now that recycling is more commonplace, that the program is no longer necessary. What they really mean though is that since it isn't making them any money, it gets the axe. I'm going to order up a cupboard full of mugs before this stuff gets completely picked over.

I've saved up loads of these points over the years but never got round to cashing them in. Not sure if it's worth it though as by the time I've paid postage I could have just bought the stuff instead.

Bummer. I've got about 500 points ive collected over my life lol. I had NO IDEA it was anything to do with recycling- ive actually cut the points off my packs as a more convinient way to store them. I hope they'll still honor them :/ I've been aiming for the stool!

Yeah, that's why it's better to save up and place one big order, as shipping charges get drastically reduced as the orders get bigger. For 10 shirts or 3 cups, international shipping is $22. Double that order is only $3 more.

I think they want you to send the entire package, but you may be able to get them to honor the points still. I think they stopped offering the stool awhile ago. Now it's mainly just some decent shirts, pint glasses or mugs.
