All righty! So I take Hawk's advice and go look for Sieges Even, "A Sense Of Change" and hit up my favorite online joint, The End Records. They didn't have it. So then I went to Laser's Edge and they had it. I rooched around for some other things on the to buy list and picked up :

Engine/Engine $7.00
Engine/Superholic $7.00
Fates Warning/Still Life (2 CD) $9.00
Icarus Witch/Capture The Magic $13.00
Machine Men/Elegies $13.00
Sieges Even/A Sense Of Change $11.00
Silent Force/Infatuator $6.00
Vision Divine/The Perfect Machine $13.00
Warmachine/The Beginning Of The End $11.00

Check out those prices on some of those discs! The clearance section is chock full of good stuff! And they do have several of the Conception discs for $21 each. That may be below the pain threshold.

weow ,some great CD's there...I mostly like Silent Force and Icarus Witch of them....That Icarus Witch CD is just awesome !!! Modern oldschool at it's best!

I've had the MP3s of the IW for a little while but I knew after about the second listen that I'd be picking that one up. They didn't have the "Roses on White Lace" EP or I would have it on the way as well.

I like Silent Force "Worlds Apart" and DC Cooper's solo so that was an easy pickup. If the Royal Hunt stuff had been a couple bucks cheaper I would have gotten some of that too.

More power to ya, but I *hated* that IW album. Machine Men on the other hand...

If you're into the whole retro '80s/old-school trad. metal sound, you should really check out Overlorde, IronSword, Slough Feg, and maybe Brocas Helm.

Hey thanks! I'll be looking into them. I've been meaning to check out the Slough Feg so another vote of confidence is always welcome.

np, I don't know which album to tell you to get first, I think many people will say "Down...Deadmen" or "Twilight of the Idols," but I think "The Traveller" might be the best one to start with. Heavy as hell, and metal as fuck.

Good haul man . Laser's Edge is a great place to buy stuff even if devoted more to prog rock thay have fine stuff in metal too. I haul there from time to time.

Hellfueled definately an old school sound!  Sweet score Wheezer!

My latest haul is just a single. I picked up the Scorpions Acoustica DVD, been waiting too damn long to find it on a USA or region 0 but cannot.

I was about to get that copy on Laser's Edge a few days ago, but I'm looking for some other stuff :loco:

How is Laser's Edge in regards to fast shipping and customer service? Those are the two things most important to me.

I expect whatever I order to arrive in the neighborhood of one week. That means it must ship within 2-3 days of my order. Timely shipping is a must!

If my cd isn't in stock, they better tell me via email and not just backorder and let me stew on the rear burner while I'm checking the front burner (mailbox) daily in expectation. I also like ship confirmation. That way I can calculate when to start looking for it.

I'm still old school. I'd buy from the record stores if they stocked anything good. I order from the internet often, but it still irks me to have to sit around for a week or two, waiting for its arrival.

Good on both counts IMO. I only have once a problem with them that I order 4 CDs and only get three but didn't got charged for the missing item as far as I recall.

Also they answer when you ak something. I got Steel Prophet "Beware" from them and I wasn't sure about the version , so I ask and they answered me immediately so I ordered it.

Besides I found their collection of prog music astounding, lots of titles I was never aware of and very good prices.

I have never had a problem with them. There was one time I ordered some stuff and then found I had forgotten to add one of the primary reasons for the order. It was a simple email away from being added to my order. Ken Golden, the guy that runs the place, is a real asset to the metal community.

I'll let you know how long this order takes. I've been getting stuff from them about four or five days after I place the order. Sometimes less than that. I just checked this order and it says it's not shipping until tomorrow. That would be disappointing but I'll still have it within a week of ordering.

Awesome, thanks Wyv and Wheez. I'll add them to my list of approved places to shop. If they have Conception for $21, I might go for that. I want to hear them first though.

It doesn't surprise me that your order is taking an extra day or two, Wheezer. You did have a HUGE list for them to fulfill. Not like you're just ordering one or two!

Conception the band? I only got their last album which I got used on $6 (and I'm not very crazy about it). But I believe their albums are available at regular prices out there, isn't it so?

Nope. They're all imports and usually about $35. Laser has them for $21 but not Flow. Flow is really tough to find. I got it for a "normal" price about 5 years ago.

OUCH! That's damn expensive, my "Flow" copy is the Noise version, and like I dais I got it used cheap. No wonder $21 it's acceptable :hypno:

Glad to help! PM me your snail mail and I'll send you a disc of their Mp3s. That's all I've got of them except for Flow.

Once I thought a bit about that order I thought the same as you. It is a big order. The biggest I've gotten in a really long time.

I know man! Lasers Edge is a fantastic place to shop for the more and unknown progressive stuff.

I am wondering how you like the Sieges Even album. :p
I know that I am pimping my homies Sieges Even like crazy, but IMH And Very Subjective Opinion they are worth the effort. :)

The Icarus Witch album is very special. Great 80s metal for the new millennium if you ask me. Not that you did but what the hell.

About Vision Divine; I just got their DVD and its amazing!! Their singer is so damn good it unbelievable!
