The brotherhood of game show hosts lost a key personality Monday when Peter Tomarken, ringmaster of the 1980s hit Press Your Luck, was killed along with his wife and two others when a plane he was piloting went down off the coast of Los Angeles Monday.

:(

Peter Tomarkin: "There's .. SOMETHING!.. on.. THE WING"

he thought it was a Whammy...

turns out it was the zombie of Ray Combs

This is quite strange. For the past few weeks I have been watching Press your luck on the game show channel. And I was thinking "I wonder what the host does now and how much older he might look" And then yesterday It was on again and I thought the same thing. I was going to search the net and try to find a Where are they now site or something but then said fuck it and went back to work. Then I look on the Neverboard and saw this post. This is freekin me out.

no, he was a guy who did nothing but try to figure out ways to get free money

he started at the tv endlessly until he saw the pattern

it was hilarious when they showed clips from the show, and he just stared silently on tv for a few minutes, and the host was like "uhhh ... hello?? you can press it any time now.. "

I was just reading about MONOPOLY THE GAME SHOW and how Peter Tomarken was supposed to be the host for the syndicated version, but it was never picked up.

Then I noticed PETER TOMARKEN IS DEAD , WTF :waah:

Then I remembered I already knew that. (I almost made a thread!)

wikipedia said:
A short-lived Monopoly game show aired on Sunday evenings during the summer of 1990 on ABC. The show was produced by Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! creator Merv Griffin. The show was hosted by a former Jeopardy! contestant Mike Riley. Three contestants compteted by answering crossword puzzle like clues to acquire the properties on the board. After the properties were acquired, a Monopoly game round was played. The winner then went on to play the bonus game. In the bonus game, the contestant had to choose 4 properties on the board to convert to "Go To Jail" spaces. Along with the actual "Go To Jail" space, the contestant rolled the dice and had to pass GO without landing on a "Go To Jail" space. If the contestant passed Go, they won $25,000, however if the contestant landed on Go, they would win $50,000. The show was paired on ABC with a summer long Super Jeopardy! tournament.
.

edit: wow that's a pretty lame wikipedia entry.. compteted?!
