First of all I want to say that I like all type of metal bands from every nation or ethnic background. I'm not nordic, Im from Latinamerica.
But I want to listen to bands with only nordic members
of Denmark, Norway and Sweden, with musicians whose
both parents are ethnic nordics.
I just want to feel a viking sensation, it does not matter
to me if the band is racialist.
Can anyone recommend me some talented bands?

For the ultimate viking sensation, try AMON AMARTH - Once Sent From the Golden Hall. There is none more Viking. This is music you could imagine vikings listening to. There are plenty of other viking metal bands, but most are more about the themes, instead of capturing the essence, the majesty of vikings themselves.

I must also recommend the following bands of nordic persuasion, who, though not relevant to getting viking sensations, are incredible:
Dissection
Hypocrisy
Immortal
Emperor
The Crown
At the Gates

Though I could make this list go on for much longer, that would no doubt help you very little. Perhaps you could tell us what kind of music you already are listening to.

I must stress again, buy Once Sent From the Golden Hall.

Thanks to all for the recommendations.
I will check them all.

I listen to baroque music and classical music in general.

My favourite metal artists are ManowaR, Iron Maiden, Johansson brothers, Stratovarius, Symphony X, Rhapsody, White Skull, Crystal Eyes, Blind Guardian, Iced Earth, In Flames.
Since I listened to In Flames,
I became interested in other less commercial swedish
death melodic metal bands than that, (because they sometimes sounds like NU-metal and alternative) with power sound and racialist feeling, but with large melodic lines (if it is possible).
If they are not melodic, I can also like them, but the bands must be brutal.

I'm interested in the barbarian battles in ancient Spain and Portugal between visigoths, suevs, alans and vandals, and
all that have relation to nordic and germanic tribes history.

You couldn't be further off, actually.

Amon Amarth is a band that is MOSTLY Viking imagery/lyrical content/theme, and hardly at all Viking metal music. Amon Amarth is a melodic death metal band, period.

Ulvedal has a decent list of good starter Viking metal bands...

maybe u should buy the ultimate swedish band ever ..CANDLEMASS...
and also probably u will like Veni Domine ...and Bathory of the epic period ..

Agree!

I wonder why nobody mentioned Enslaved so far as a viking metal band?? check them out: http://www.enslavedunion.com/

and I don`t really consider Finntroll and Moonsorrow viking bands... they are rather trollish, pagan metal bands.. or something like that.. ;)

and some more viking bands:
Mithotyn[/B though they don`t exist anymore but the former members are making Falconer: http://www.falconer-metal.com/
Einherjer: :http://www.einherjer.com/
Helheim. http://www.helheim.com/
Thyrfing - but their latest album is not really viking metal anymore. http://www.thyrfing.com/
Falkenbach

Just mentioned the better known bands

meh... we're all entitled to our own opinons. He wants brutal. He wants melodic. He wants vikings. And from the other music he's mentioned, he'd probably like them. Amon Amarth may not sound like Enslaved, but they're obviously viking as fuck.

I agree about the 'entitled to opinions' thing. Difference is, Amon Amart is NOT viking metal, and that's a fact. Not an opinion.

However, it's all moot, since I think you're right; he'll *love* them anyway!

Mocika, have to say that I always lump the pagan/Celtic/folk/battle/etc in with the viking metal bands since the "idea" behind them and their music is very, very similar. Plus, then there would be only a few true viking metal bands. :)

A _fact_ you say? And who is the almighty person deciding what is what with all these genres?

Fact is, that that "fact" is an opinion of yours ;)

First of all I didn´t say anything about what I consider Amon Amarth to be (and I am def. not saying that they are Viking Metal). So don´t say anything about my hearing before you know anything about that.

Secondly, are you the one defining genres for the whole metal comunity? If so, please make everyone use the same terms for the same bands, and stop ppl from making up own genres all the bloody time.

A fact is something that can be proven. How can you prove that they are that and not that? You can´t, because it´s all up to the listener.

Clean you eyes and read what I actually write the next time. I am against genres, not your def. of them, or your def. of Amon Amarth, wich I, BTW, find quite good.

Alright, alright, I grant you all that, and my apologies for making an assumption about your erm, hearing ability. I hate when people make assumptions about me too, so kudos for telling where to stick it.

I was also being a smart-@$$ re: genres. Perhaps I should have said something along the lines of "Amon Amarth simply doesn't fit the generally-accepted definition of what viking metal is considered to be" or something like that.

Anyway, sorry y'all.

Hmm I really dont see what doesnt make Amon Amarth Viking Metal...the fact that they have basically only lyrics concerning the Viking Age...and Viking belives...makes them Viking Metal in my book.

Anyway they really kick ass!!!

Nargaroth definately....I'm not sure if they're all Nordic, but they have some of the best Nordic black metal I've heard. Check out "The Day As BURZUM Killed Mayhem" and "Black Metal Ist Krieg"

nargaroth (or kanwulf, who is nargaroth), is german.

for some great nordic viking metal, check out some early borknagar, enslaved, bathory, windir or kampfar...

Yeah youre right about that...

If I was in a Viking Metal band, I would play something like Amon Amarth does, only I would have more folk tunes in the music and some pride vocals here and there ;)
