Ok, so I think it's a mixture of:
1. Me getting older and becoming more docile.
2. The heat here at the moment
3. A general broadening of tastes

So I'd like people to beging recommending me some "dark melodic rock". To be honest, it doesn't really have to be dark either ... just not thoroughly gay (interpret as you wish). The sorts of albums I am thinking of are; Tiamat's Wildhoney and Katatonia's Discouraged Ones. Anathema is ok as well, but the album Judgement is borderline gay ... seldom do I enjoy this release.

I'm probably not that interested in anything American, unless I'm very unlikely to have heard it and it completely rules. I'm thinking more along the lines of the european sell-outs, many of which I've already heard, but nonetheless I'm interested to read about favourite post-metal era albums. Note though, I'm also not really interested in half-arsed attempts to re-brand themselves as metal though (e.g. the latested Amorphis).

Thanks in advance.
