Dark Roots Of Thrash, a DVD/2CD release documenting Bay Area veterans TESTAMENT’s sold-out headlining performance at the Paramount in Huntington, NY this past February, will be made available on October 11th (Europe) and October 15th (North America) via Nuclear Blast! Dark Roots Of Thrash was produced by Get Hammered Productions, directed by Tommy Jones (DEATH ANGEL, KATAKLYSM, SOILWORK) and mixed by Juan Urteaga (VILE, EXODUS, SADUS, MACHINE HEAD). It captures a total of 19 live tracks with countless cams onstage and high above the audience, plus a special moshpit cam that makes you feel like you’re a part of the show!

Commented guitarist Eric Peterson: “Metal heads! In case you’ve missed us on our Dark Roots campaign tour here’s a day in the life and good representation of our show! Check it out, and put on your list of metal to get!”

Vocalist Chuck Billy added: “For all you die hard metal heads out there Dark Roots Of Thrash is a must have for your collection. This live DVD and CD is something you can put in you player and crank up for the feeling of a live TESTAMENT performance! You will get 18 songs from the early days of thrash metal to where we are today. Heavy metal forever!”

So wait, the regular dvd/2cd set does or doesn't have the extra backstage footage as the blueray?::err:

I'm not sure. but I'm still pissed about the bluray.20 thousand first week sales isn't enough for us to get it?! Or the record company just wants to gouge us?

Amazon uk ships to the US, and that also includes the CDs.

Doesn't mean it's cheap, but it's cheaper than the NB store.

Yeah I know I can get it.It's what they or NB directly will charge just to get it to me.Everyday I see another story of some fucking band coming out with a bluray and you can be sure many of them did not outsell Dark Roots.Just yesterday I read that the project with Portnoy and Sheehan will have a bluray.I can get that here but not Testament.Pure greed to rape us on shipping.

Yeah but on the other hand it hurts the label, as the U.S. sales go down. When people from the US order abroad these don't count for SoundScan and Billboard. And a live DVD could do just as good as the album did, I think.

Maybe the blurays don't sell that good in the US, but that's still stupid. I can understand bonus tracks for Japan (from the business point of view, not fan's perspective, of course), but different formats seems pointless.

Absolutely pointless, everyone has blurays out now. It's like when labels were still putting shit out on vhs even though dvds were in full swing.

I guess we can rename this to "live" album
