I never view a songs lyrics as just what inspired the writer. For example that song in particular has meant different things to me depending on my mood.

Mustaine is in his 50's, they're starting to become priests, the ideas are at the bottom of the barrell, they don't have any record contracts, and many suppossed health problems Mustaine is having. This year will tell how much fuel is left in their tank. As for Metallica they say they want to play into their 60's if they are physicall able to.
