Seriously though, I have been in love with the female vocals on Dark Tranquillity's stuff lately and asked my dad for some female vocals out of his collection. He showed me Lorenna Mckennit and I really liked it. What do you guys think of her? I find her voice rather beautiful and have been looking for stuff similar to this. Also, I have become rather infatuated with Irish music lately (non-metal that is). Could you guys recommend me some of it?

PS- Sorry for not putting this in the non-metal forum. Truth is, no one really ever goes there. Also, if you don't like the thread...just don't respond

I swear you can't go anywhere on the internet without hearing about dave mustaine and seeing a pic of his stupid nerd face. I remember during one it was with metallica/lars ulrich, now it's dave mustaine.

stop the madness

I hardly like Dave Mustaine.....but he.....hardly has a "stupid nerd" face.

Yeah his face is pretty nice actually--- His voice, on the other hand...

Sorry that had nothing to do with the thread, I can't really help you.

Here's another pic of Dave Mustaine in drag:

get the Pogue's albums If I Should Fall From Grace with God and Rum, Sodomy, and the Lash (which are probably the best things that ever happened) and some crap from the Dubliners (anything because they're awesome) and maybe a couple more Loreena McKennitt albums (especially The Book of Secrets) then never buy another "Celtic" or "Irish" album again because it's all Berkely lesbian yoga faggot vegan middle aged pap. hth

I actually didn't know that. Too bad that I chanced to coincide with someone on the most obvious thing imaginable.

If you happen to like the Pogues, get The Tossers' Long Dim Road and Loreena Mckennitt's live album. I've also heard good things about Cruachan who are on topic!!!

They're cheesy as all hell, but the verse and a half Shane McGowan sings on "Ride On" is pretty much enough to justify their existence as a band.

Also Loreena McKennitt's first two albums, the name of which I can't remember at the moment, all a lot more "celtic" sounding than her latter albums, and also pretty great.

Actually, Tori Amos is an extremely gifted female vocalist, though not at all in the style of Lorena McKennit. And that Dave Mustaine comparison was a Beavis and Butthead ripoff, dumbass.

That was not a smilie of horror, but of uncontrollable drooling (it was the closest I could find at least). I love Tori Amos and everything she stands for. I want to marry her.
