Forget a trinity why aren't we writing a pantheon of metal gods? Yes the trinity is good, but there are more metal gods out there than just those three. Tony Iommi for example? He DID create the metal riff.

I think more thrashy. I've only noticed that people have been complaining that even though Dave's come back to thrash the music still isn't thrashy enough. I disagree but he's still going to make each album more thrash than the last I would think.
