i finally got to see david cronenbergs dead ringers the other night and i must say i was very dissapointed. there were no bodily mutations, one measly death, and a smithering of 'perversion'. Thank god that he went on to do 'Crash' which was utterly morally unacceptable

this I've still to see, actually. went and bought one of his earlier films, The Brood, which was pretty decent. no real cronenbergism until the end, which served as a pretty good shocker. i enjoyed shivers more, tho, but it was years ago I saw that one.

did you know that Criterion is releasing a promising dvd edition of Videodrome? looks and sounds excellent from the reviews..

did you like the gynocological tools on that one mick? i havenst seen the film but they always mention that


crash is excellent. it' just as good as it's novel. of course the novel is sicker

i always thought videodrome was shite and cronenberg was a bit crap too, having said that crash sounds alright.

Videodrome is easy in one of me top ten films. Cronenbergs first 5 (Shivers, Scanners, Rabid, Brood and Videodrome) are top.
