Its good to read that so many people on this board are living the American dream- to become obese. That being said, alot of it has to do with metabolism. I can eat like a goddamn pig ( and I do) and not really gain much weight, as I lift weights, and I have naturally high metabolism. I have friends that can eat shit all day, every day of the year, and not gain weight. Yet there are people with low metabolism who cannot afford to eat like the average American- and must exercise as well.
As for the Atkins thing, it looks like a bodybuilders diet a month before they oil themselves up for their big competition. The difference is, these guys go back to eating healthy slow burning carbs after the competition. No carbs is unhealthy for the body and the brain, i think if one has too few carbs for too long one goes into a state of Ketosis.
