i am vastly entertained by two episodes of sci-fi television that i've seen recently, and i hate sci-fi television, and television as a whole, usually; and this show is named firefly[i\], and not only is it mind-bendingly pretty good, but also contains one of the most attractive and GOOD acting ladies i can remember watching.

nick: firefly is AMAZING and i suggest getting the whole series on dvd.

which actress is it you are speaking of? the one who plays the prostitute? the one who plays the tough military girl married to the pilot? or the one who plays the tom-boy mechanic?

tom-boy mechanic. yeah, she's young, but there is something so GREAT about her. facial expressions, her acting ability, everything. seems honest.

i was reading good reviews of this show from a source i consider pretty reputable, so i checked it out. watched the pilot and the first broadcast episode and i was impressed. i will follow your advice.

i think the captain is a little TOO wooden, but oh well.

the make up their own inappropriate language!

she looks way too american in pictures, though

she's canadian, she's 21 and she's married.

i think that the captain develops alot more through the course of the show and becomes a little less "wooden."

the thing i love about the language is that one of the subtle details of the show is that its implied that the two languages that have survived the unification of the universe is english and chinese and every character from the elite down to the peasants speaks both fluently.

gah!

anyhow, yeah greg. i watch with subtitles on because of that AND i find the dialogue sort of muffled.

so buffy is this good, right? i'm not watching more television, but i'm curious.

for the most part buffy is that good yes. firefly wasn't around long enough to0 have alot of filler episodes and buffy had a few for sure.

also the capatain from firefly was also amazing in the last few buffy episodes as a maniacal preacher who likes to kill girls.

and the guy who played Jane, the tough guy, was amazing as a smarmy lawyer in the last season of angel.

and also the tough chick from firefly made a turn as a ancient being in angel season 4 as well.

its all interconnected.

i think the problem with buffy and angel is that when their casts and stories got really big it was harder to keep the dialogue and flow moving along well BUT firefly is probably the most consistenly amazing writing for a huge ensemble cast that i have ever seen.

this is really cool. a maniacal preacher, eh?

i like jane a lot, and i'm trying to figure out where i saw him... w/o looking at IMDB, though.

i heard that the first episode (the train job?) wasn't so big with the fanbase due to, i dunno, silliness? i thought it was slightly[i/] less dark than the pilot.

i agree with, and see your point on the dialogue bit, though.

i think the whole issue anyone had with it is that it wasn't supposed to be the first epiosde and fox had really fucked with order joss whedon had planned and he is a very methodical writer where the order is pretty important and it was silly having the train job as an opener because it didn't give the characters a good enough introduction i felt.

also interesting to note is that there were three actors who made one epsiode appaearances on firefly who also made brief appearances on both buffy and angel as well.

greg, another thing... and not to change the subject entirely, so feel free to keep going on firefly

but before i forget -- m'fn batista!
i honestly haven't been keeping up very much. what specifically are you referring to that he did? i saw him powerbomb eugene on monday and it made my spine wince in pain.

also i want to see his summerslam commercial because i heard it was funny.

i don't care about that stuff!

see she'd have a posting name along the lines of "peach_like" or "polly" or some other such garbage. i'd buy you popcorn over her.
