Death Metal Mix - Thoughts?

This particular song is more of a death metal song with a hard rock part


What do you think of the mix? (It's only a sample of the full song, as I didn't ask the band's permission to post the whole thing.)

I've actually mixed a bit more since the link I posted, so I'll post an update after work today.

The whole mix seems really dry to me. Try messing with some reverb on the drums and also try a bit more gain on the guitars. Be carefully not to go over board with the gain but i think a bit more would help.

Nice song, it has a hard rock sound rather than a metal sound.
I agree somewhat with the above poster, the guitar solo needed more gain in the pre-amp.

That's a problem that needed to be fixed at the source. Sounds like the drummer was tapping the snare with a pencil.

Probably going to have to suggest using samples for this.

It's very surprising (but cool also) how it goes form very dark death metal to a very heavy part with a very melodic solo suddenly
