Death Metal singer not allowed to be teacher

If I had children I wouldn't want him teaching my kids. Period.

Maybe instead of thinking about this in terms of "How dare people be offended by things!!?", instead look at it as a parent "These are my kids and you're not coming near them to teach them anything, you satanic wacko."

And in what way is that better?
Just another way of saying that people are being silly. The responsible authorities are keeping a low profile about this and are not issuing statements, because it has dawned on someone that there is no legal ground. Kinda sad that the guy didn't seem to make a great law case out of it, it would be entertaining to watch.

(More semi-related personal story: my ex-girlfriend's art teacher paints really disturbing shit in his spare time. Does anyone object? No.)

Yeah, with hit songs like "Chainsaw Masturbation", I'm sure he'd have a real win on his hands.

(Fun fact: One thing you just can't teach is common sense.)

Will you please get that this is not a legal reason for denying him his advancement? Sure its fucking tasteless, but there you are.

Anyway, we are not getting anywhere with this, so lets just let this topic die.

HAHah! Man, he's still on an introduction period. Meaning they can fire his ass for whatever reason they see fit. Furthermore there are contractual standards that teachers have to adhere to. I've known teachers who were fired for much less. He's got no case.

A large amount of teachers are state employees and not easily fired. The practise was halted for a few years but is starting up again to get more people into the job.

What I'm getting at its that you can't fire anyone for any reason you want, there are many complex laws depending on the kind job and sometimes even what state you live in to make this so. Also there's an anti-discrimination act since a few years which allows for very interesting interpretations. Hire and fire is usually not possible.

Oh I'm sure they have contracts, but I doubt that particular section is covered in that specific way.

Family own lawyer (for German law) agrees that he most definitely has a good case.

But once again, lets stop arguing. You'll never admit you're wrong and neither will I and going on for going on's sake is a waste of time.

Right, wrong, whatever. You came here expecting sympathy for this guy (now you're trying to twist it into a legal thing), and despite the fact that this is a metal forum most could see the massive lack in judgement. Not only did this guy think it was ok to outwardly admit he's a part of something that would obviously call into question his right to teach children, but he did in fact let it interfere with his teaching when he ask for a leave. The dude did this to himself, and since you can't seem to see that fact then yes, this has been a complete waste of my time.

yeah well, if you're going to be an example to little kids I don't think he would be the right person. If you search for your teacher on google and find two women doing things that are totally messed up... Obviously kids (or anyone for that matter...) shouldn't be exposed to things like that

Because that's just how it is. Having a Facebook or Myspace can help you not get a job too. Also eating poppy seed bagels before a drug test.

Most jobs have standards you have to adhere to in, and out of work especially one's that have a huge impact on other people's lives. Your actions define you; you don't teach children, and then go sing about shooting them up at night. Those type of polarized actions don't fly, and are a huge concern for parents, and schools. Furthermore making music videos a such is not part of his "private" life. Take a cop for example, no one can stop them from having racist thoughts, but the minute they get caught on tape voicing those opinions their ass is fired. That's because it calls into question their ability to do their job correctly.

Motorcycle club? The horror! /sarcasm

I once arrived at a job interview and the guy didn't ask me any questions related to the job. Just wanted to know about my band and show me his guitar collection (he had it in his office :u-huh:). Said he had googled me before he called me and saw my band page. He was creepy. I didn't accept the job. Imagine if every employer did that.

Yeah I think "the children" are a particularly sensitive issue.
