This is black metal, but I second the rec regardless, because the album is absolutely amazing.

Also: I recommend pre-power metal Amoral.

Blackened death. Still death metal to an extent as with Amok.
It is in no way just black metal.

This band I saw in Colorado opened up for lacuna coil.
They're death, with keyboards, piano, and this girl that can growl like a man on keys.

Alabaster Morgue. I'd say check 'em out.

Gorguts - The Erosion of Sanity (YES i know Obscura, but this is far more evil and twisted imo)

Cryptopsy - Blasphemy Made Flesh (bass heavy but cold and icy at the same time)

and I guess None So Vile even though youve probably already heard it, I always found it to have a strangely baroque (right word? probably not.), romantic quality

and someone already mentioned Demilich, thats CRUCIAL also
