Opeth for me. Much of thier music is just magic to my ears. Of course, it's far easier to appreciate Opeth's music because it's just easier to comprehend than Death's. I've never really been able to consider Death one of my favourite death bands because I was indoctrinated into death metal the wrong way round; I heard all the modern death bands before I ever heard stuff by the golden oldies, so in a way, I don't find older death metal as powerful. Though of course I still enjoy it and appreciate it. =) i think it's the vocals; Chucks vocals simply sound chaotic and undisciplined compared to many modern vocalists, that may indeed be the intended style though, and also a matter of taste. Never liked his lyrics either. =) Heh, I must sound like a Death basher, i'm not! really! I've got 4 Death albums y'know.

Indeed it is. Not surprising though, being that they're the flavor of the month. More importantly though, someone from the Opeth Turd Army has to always post a link to something like this is their forum, encouraging them to come over in droves and stuff the ballot box. So polls like become really useless. Besides, anyone who has a shred of intelligence knows that Death destroys Opeth. And hey, I actually like Opeth.

I guess Opeth is good. They may not be overrated but I just dont like them as much as many people. I find Death to be far better to my liking. The Opeth guys are pretty nice though, I have seen them twice live.

I'm listening to My Arms, Your Hearse right now, and I still don't see how they are better than Death. I like Opeth, but they are not Death.

And I don't care if Opeth loses a poll. I wanted to see what people thought. I don't mind if more peole enjoy Opeth music, but what amazes me is the number of assholes who come in here and start whining about Death sucking.

And I don't have a second account. I checked my old email (had this address for 7 or 8 years) and that was on the IF board from EZboard.
