Deathember - Great unsigned local band

people don't take band names seriously anymore. Deathember? braindrill? hell yeah? lightning swords of death? Trident? (I don't give a fuck what the word actually means) Milking the Goatmachine? powerglove? throatplunger? I wouldn't be surprised if I start seeing bandnames like "very bad cat" or "ding dong"

Very Bad Cat could actually be the name of a British 70's prog rock band...

I looked up what a powerglove is and it's still imo, a cheesy lame name (you're talking about that hand controller thing for Nintendo right?). That makes it worse. But I agree...I think the music should come first before a band name, hell I'd rather hear Nevermore's music and have them be called "power dart" then hearing crappy songs and have them be called Nevermore. But a good band name is a plus and caring about band names in metal ain't totally fuckin' unusual

Edit: I kept assuming Powerglove was an original band...they're not, a Nintendo cover band. my bad.

They're on Regian Records and Johan Norman from Dissection is their guitarist.

Well...they're a cover band. I was ripping on regular, original bands though. Or at least bands that try to be original.

Now I'm listening to your music...It sounds like an Americanized, McDonalds attempt of acoustic Ulver and Empyrium. It's like as if Sesame Street and some drunken hack from a bar in South Dakota got together to dress up and sing like pirates for halloween.

word, I might as well jump in here and promote this local band Wake The Living. I think they put some thought into their name IMO, and their single is now on iTunes. Its called everything will bleed. I happen to be VERY good friends with one of the guitar players, and he thinks its cool that I am promoting them in this thread.

Well, check their myspace or facebook page or whatever for names of the members and compare with my name (which should still be in someones signature... whoever qouted me, I can't remember...) and you'll see that I'm not.


And just for the sake of it, I'm actually gonna post a song of one of my own bands, and a song that I myself did write on top of that (well.. parts of it.... at least the first riff...)
