Debut re-record

Ok ive been off symphony x for a while, havent really been following them recently. I remember they they said they were recording their debut album....has that already been done and released or was the idea abandend? Cheers for any info, as I will definatly buy whatever they release next

I don't know but that would kick some ass.

I would love to see The Raging Season with Russel on vocals.

the idea was abandoned as far as i know, look forward to a new album

They were going to do that, but they decided they'd rather concentrate on new material instead. So after this tour they'll be writing and recording a new album at some point.

According to Russell, work on the next album should begin after the current tour...hopefully it will be ready by this time next year...

Damn straight. I'd rather listen to the debut album, imagining Russell on vox, and have a new album with new material, than just get an album of the old stuff rerecorded.

i know this is greedy, but they should do both and release the first re-recorded album as a bonus disc with the new cd... like a limited edition thing. that would be cool... we can always dream.

I think rerecording a few songs and not the entire album for use as bonus tracks or a fanclub-only thing would make more sense...
