Defenders Of The Faith tours 08

With that line-up, it should be called "Destroyers of the Faith". My freind was trying to get me to listen to devildriver and it was the most awful racket I ever heard.

I assumed he would start jerking off around the guiter solo so I got up and left the room.

I've been going to Opeth shows since Blackwater Park,(listening since 96' but they didn't come till BP)and Devildriver opened on two of those tours. Totally a poser band. All of a sudden, the ex-Coal Chamber singer thinks he's into, and knows about old school death, and thrash. And, to top it off, he's yelling back at the guys that are there to see Opeth and the band after DD. There were so many kiddies with Mortician, Obituary, and other old shirts walking around. I finally asked two of them at seperate times, but to the same effect.."Hey, which album should I get...which one should I start with?" Same answer...blank stare, long pause..."ummm....any of them..I don't know umm...This is my friends/brothers shirt." Most people for both those tours went out on the balconies during the DD set anyway.

Look...My opinion isn't any more valid than anyone elses, but it bugs me no less, when they do that. If you don't like or listen to the band on your chest, then don't bother. Just keep liking what music you like. Perfect example...my brother, who is 10 years younger than me, used to listen to MC Hammer(?!) and Vanilla Ice in the early 90's. He of ten years at the time, asked what I thought. I smirked, kept my true feelings in check.."I don't care for them, but hey, if you like it, that's all that matters." About 8 years later, he was into some stuff that suprised me. He dropped by my house one day, when I was listening to Bruce Dickinson's Chemical Wedding album, and he was enthralled, never heard singing, and musicianship like that. He obviously grew out of that radio-pop phase on his own. I guess it's ok that the DD singer - "all of a sudden"-seems to know about these great bands, but that doesn't exactly give you a free pass to scream at the "not fooled" audience "You're not metal, come on fuckers mosh!"
