Democrats take majority in senate and house, Rumsfeld resigns...

You guys think we've seen the last of him? That's funny. If you know the name of a politician, he has absolutely no power. The people who run this country are behind the scenes, behind the figureheads, and they still retain control.
they like to get stupid people into office, and when one of their figureheads goes amuck they either ruin their reputation (nixon, clinton) or kill them (kennedy). If you vote, vote for the people who are most likely to rebel.

You watch too much TV. Conspiracy theorists bore me.

I don't think James realizes I don't like ANY party, but the dems will probably be slightly less destructive for the moment. Who knows later on.

It's always been a case of the Democrats being a slap to the face and the republicans being a steel-toe-capped boot to the teeth, both bad - but you clearly want one over the other.

YEP. Most conspiracy theories are completely stupid.

Amazing considering they virtually had no agenda. I'm still scratching my head wondering what the "plan" is. Republicans had it coming. Many lost touch with their values and eliminated their base. To say the truth, not a damn thing was happening besides medocre success in Iraq. And with a president and a house and senate of the same party, spending is naturally going to be out of control. It is a breath of fresh air. I just can't wait til '08 when the public realizes that Democrats' don't have a plan and no reform achieved. :hotjump:

Well, I wouldn't expect too much change too fast -- we'll be spending YEARS pointing fingers and spending money. But, on the brighter side, it did spawn my most favoritist Bush quote to date: "Shows what I know". I think that about sums up the whole damned administration, myself.

How true!

However, at least we know idiotic rules such as making abortions or gay marriege illegal will not happen.

speaking of gay... Have you notice how many gay republicans are coming out nowadays?

ehhh, not quit true.
Every president got his reputation "ruined" at some point of his life.
welcome to politics. You think the democrats didn't ruin Bush's reputation?!?!?!
he has none!
The people behind the scenes may make the decisions, but what good would that be if the senate and the house of rep. belong to the democrats?!?

The people have spoken. Everybody wants a change.
Lets hope the change will indeed come.

I'll admit its humorous watching two gay guys interact, especially partners.

My co-worker Fred and I stopped by his house when we took the tards on a van ride, and he and his partner talking to the tards and giving them candy was hard as hell not to laugh at. It borders on stereotype sometimes. :) But I tell you what, Fred works harder than any of us. If all the gay men work that hard, let me be the only straight one on the unit.
