How do either Theli, Vovin, or Deggial compare to Secret of the Runes? If they're identical then I probably wouldn't venture much further, but if you threw in some aggression, death vox, & some eerie darkness, I think it could sound quite cool, like Hollenthon.

I'd say check out Theli and then go from there.

Vovin is similar to Secret of the Runes.

Deggial is a little darker, guest appearance from vocalist of Blind Guardian on one KICK ASS song.

Yeah, I'd agree. I think JayK will dig Theli and Lepaca Kliffoth. Vovin, Deggial and Secret... are all pretty much similar.

I agree that it seems that bands often neglect vox issues, but I don't feel that way about this album. I feel like everything fits together quite nicely.
