desoerate help, trained ears needed

i just can't solve this mix.
everything seemes to be sitting wrong, it lacks of power and depth i think, and quite dark, but boosting high freq just make it harsh.

any expertes thaught?

i know its kinda impossible, the original is slower, half tone down i think, and better tracked..

No expert here, but the hammerfall version has a ton more reverb on drums than yours and a much wider stereo spread. Maybe clean out the middle a bit more. Sounds like the guitar on the right side is much louder than the left also.

the drums reverb is somethings is really hard to achieve. and suggestions on this one?
just reverb on each dru, track?
or maybe sending a mixdown of the drums to a reverb?

im also not an expert, but here is my .02c. try to eq/compress your kick/snare a bit, sounds a little muddy and lifeless. also your snare hits in the intro are single stroke hits with no toms (at least i cant hear the toms), when the YT version plays a "floor punch" style with flam hits on the snare. and do you have a limiter on your master bus? that will add some punch and "loudness" to it. as far as the guitars go, try adding a tad more grit to the bass, making the guitars sound fuller and bigger. and edit out any notes not being played on the guitars/bass as well. that will make it sound cleaner, as all the unwanted string noise tends to cloud up mixes. you're on the right track, just a little bit of work in the mixing and you are pretty much there, IMO. it sounds like to me that most of the differences you are hearing from the YT video are in the mastering process. again, just my 2 cents.
