If you like metal at all, go see them on their US tour.

Just came home from their Atlanta headlining show. The rest of the tour they'll be direct support to Enthroned (visa issues made them miss the Atlanta show...) and it was the best metal set I've seen in years.

Spikes, leather, and Australians.

They were amazing at MDF, until I had to go back inside and watch Bolt Thrower play perhaps their last show ever in the United States.

I am seeing them in Kansas City (hopefully with Enthroned as well) in a week or two.

After re-reading the topics on "false metal", Avenged Sevenfold, and Five Finger Death Punch, I am reminded as to why bands like Destroyer 666 are so essential to heavy metal. If you listen to the album Phoenix Rising and still are confused as to why *insert nu-metal/metalcore/rap-rock/cock-rock band here* isn't true metal, then get your ears checked. Seriously.

Last night's show in Ramona (San Diego) was absolutely awesome, easily the best of the three times I've seen D666. The crowd wasn't very big but the energy in the room was great and the band was definitely feeling it. It was mildly disappointing to not have Mersus behind the kit, but considering the band as a whole sounded tighter than last year, there's really nothing to complain about there. The setlist was pretty solid and they saved "I Am the Wargod" for later in the set which seemed to make it even more intense when they did get to it.

If you have the chance to see this tour, do it.

It definitely sucks about Mersus, but Perra from Nominon did a phenomenal job filling in. That guy destroys the drum kit. When Nominon came through Atlanta back in June, he was hammered and still didn't miss a single beat. He's easily one of the best drummers in death metal.

How was Enthroned?

Yeah I was really impressed with his playing, very fitting replacement. Any idea why Mersus isn't on this tour?

I decided to split right after D666, it was already midnight and I had a 45+ minute drive home. I heard this morning that they were really good, but I'm not a big enough fan that I feel disappointed to have missed them.
