Devin Townsend North America Tour Dates (October)

It's not a move up from Lincoln Hall, neither in capacity nor in class (since there is no place I would rather see a show than LH). But Reggie's ain't bad either, and I'm just happy it's not House of Blues (where he's done plenty of opening).

Well, yeah there isn't a much bigger capacity size; however, more metal shows do go to Reggie's, which I think will help. Lincoln Hall hardly ever does from what I've seen outside of the previous Devin show and High on Fire. I know you've seen him at HOB but would be the problem with that even if he has opened there?

Maybe I'm weird, but I can't imagine that anyone buys a ticket for a Devin Townsend show just because they he's playing at "their bar". Rather, they hear Devin Townsend is coming to town, ask "where's he playing?" and then go to that place, looking up the address on Google if necessary. I know metalheads can be pretty dumb, but are they dumb enough to say "I love Devin Townsend, but I've never heard of other metal bands playing that venue, so I'm not gonna go"? Didn't seem like it for his Lincoln Hall show, which I think had a pretty good turnout.

Oh, no problem with the room, it's a great room, I just don't like it because I'd be paying a $15 LiveNation tax added to the ticket price, for a less-intimate performance. And that doesn't even count the extra $10-$15 I'd have to pay for parking/transit that I don't pay at Reggie's or LH. Or Bottom Lounge or Metro or Double Door or Subterranean or Empty Bottle or Beat Kitchen.

Hot damn! I'll be at the Atlanta...uh..er..nevermind.

I've been kicking myself for the last few days since I just realized I missed him along w/ Bodom, Obscura, and Septicflesh here earlier in July.

Hope I get to see any/all of those again some time in the future - sounds like an awesome show. I'm almost tempted to make a road-trip to catch another stop on that tour, but it doesn't look like there are any more within a reasonable distance...
