Check it out guys...I just put this clip together real quick. All guitars are PODxt straight into a shitty sound card and into Adobe Audition. Thats it! Let me know what you think:

Trigger

Really? Well I thought I did pretty good for basically zero recording experience and using a POD. Sounds somewhat close to the tone on the real recording through my speakers.

Your tone is good and very similar to In Flames.

Check this song http://hell-c.com/decadawn_sample.mp3

It is from a band that sounds like early-era in flames, it was also home recorded and with a pod, I think it's good to compare yours to this one, it is very well recorded and mixed, imo.

What band is that? I tried going to hell-c.com and it was a porn site.. o_O

Yeah I think so too, still it doesn't change the overall picture really. Sorry if that's harsh.

Did you do everything?

To me it sounds like you used as a backing track the real song and you put two rhythm guitars over and high in the mix.

Not so bad the guitar tone. The mix overall sounds.... ....ììììììììììh. Something like that.

I totally understand man. I actually got the drum/bass backing track as one MP3 and just layered the guitars over it. I guess I should have said "what do you guys think of the guitar tone?", as I know the mix isn't exactly great. Thanks to all who listened!

I kinda dig the dry tone. Not bad, dude. I like playing around with Audition. We record all our stuff from a POD XT Live into a computer. I dig it for what we're doing with it.

1st? .. well done. Is this your band?

thanks dude,

nope, some friends of mine, i thought they were pretty good: they needed a demo.. i needed experience, so i did this for free in 1 day.

i allready got the job for doing the next demo (paid :headbang: ) and they want me to be apart of their songwriting stuff.. just help them with writing songs and stuff... so i bet i did pretty well... allthough guitars realy do have ZERO punch and the OH's are to loud in my opinion.. and for some reason i don't realy like the vocals yet (not because of the vocalistv thatis..)
