was really wondering how to make my guitar which sounds like this:



to something like this:

the guitars are much more beefy. its like, i dont know, some EQ magic? i mean, i did record all the frequencies with the guitar, they sound fine. but if i boost mid, i get them honky, if i boost highs, i get them annoying, and low mids make then boomy.

what am i missing?

Dirty up that bass a good bit. Add some more low end and double/quad track the guitars.

If you're not using real amps that's probably the difference. It's hard to get a sound like that with a plugin

Its an engl powerball and legacy cab , miced with a 57 off axis to get that mids
