awesome, thanks so much! want to talk him about a reissue of "Listen" :)

Actually I was just thinking about "Listen" as a reissue as I listened to the Hollow reissues this week (Modern Cathedral and Architect of the Mind). You will sell at least one copy if you can land that reissue ;). Good luck on the Lord Bane reissue too. If there is one prog/power release that needs to be reissued, "Age of Elegance" is it. I think the Lord Bane vocalist (Shawn Ames) also had a project called, "Morpheous" but nothing ever came of it regarding a release of the "The Needles Eye." I'd love to hear what that sound like. I believe Claus at Intromental had been working with Shawn regarding that project but without success.

See if there's anything you can do about the horrible production. Not sure if it was the mix, or if the original tapes are that muddy, but I was never able to cut through it enough to really enjoy this album.

was going to check with them about original source tapes and see about a remix. it was pretty rough, but there is something about it i love for not being super crystal clear. a remastering might help in some respects. we shall see what happens.

i spoke with Claus and let's just say a proper LORD BANE reissue could be a pipe dream for all of us. BUT I did have Jamie King remaster the album. i am working on posting a track to share with everyone. Apparently, the original CD was never actually mastered for release. As you will be able to hear this new master cleans up the levels nicely for a good even listen, but we all know the mix is what it is. hahaha.

I admittedly haven't listened to it in years, but I do remember enjoying it despite the muddy sound. That said, I'd be all over a better-sounding version of the album. As I recall, their second album had better sound quality, but while I still liked it, the songs didn't grab me as much as the songs on Listen did.

Good luck having "Listen" re-issued.......

I tried many years ago to make that happen, and it didn't work ..... I think the boys are done with Digital Ruin and want to let sleeping dogs lie.......

If I recall -- I think that Matt Pacheco (singer) has the master tapes and good luck finding him and / or getting those tapes from him ......

"Listen" was originally recorded as a demo to get out to the record companies, and it became a cult hit for us ...... thats why the production is the way it is .......

Like someone else said -- if you can pull that off, I'm buying 5 copies of a re-mixed / re-mastered version, but I'm not holding my breath......

Good luck ......

thanks Larry, seems i have a challenge ahead of me if i want to make it happen! that is interesting to note about the production. the TKO "In Your Face" album i reissued was the same way, demos to shop that the label just wanted to release. I actually enjoy the DR production, it is what it is all these years later. :)

Heh. I still have a copy of that demo. I think they were selling them at Powermad for like 4 bucks.

i actually attacked a dude at PP one year because he had a DR shirt on at the bar. I begged him to make me a copy of "Listen" since my original was lost in a fire the previous year. He was kind enough to do so and included that demo as well. Still have the CDRs down in my stacks. :)

Call me crazy, but I also loved "Dwelling in the Out."

That's actually the only album of DR's I've ever been able to find. And I love it. But over time, seeing almost everyone talk about how that album is mediocre compared to Listen, I REALLY need to check that album out!

I'll wait for the reissue :D

Call me crazy, but I also loved "Dwelling in the Out." Hell, the 4 song demo for DitO was actually even better than the versions that made the disc.

Wow didn't know about that demo

Love Dwelling in the Out as well

Years back there was actually a music store in the Boynton Beach Mall here in Florida - there was a guy working there and he created a whole prog metal CD section, which I just about shit when I found it - hell, he had one listening station at the front of the store set up just for his section. So he has Vanden Plas on there and I am checking the other CDs and on one side I see DITO by this band Digital Ruin I had never heard of. Put on the headphones and start listening......

And bought that album on the SPOT :worship:

Took me a LONG time in the years after searching online but finally found a place I was able to get a copy of LISTEN - for $15.

I think if I actually saw a DR band/tour shirt I might spontaneously combust lol

Ahhh - brings me back to the days of discovering Dali's Dilemma, Ice Age, Divine Regale.............

I got DiTO from Zane for free during one of his promo sales. That album is awesome, but I can't find anything else from these guys. If that album is mediocre, I would love to hear more.
