Dio has died.

Yeah, my soon-to-be wife told me when I walked in the door from work/gym. Doesn't totally shock me, honestly, but still very saddening.

My all time favorite singer.. I feel pride and strength just listening to him sing. I haven't been a big fan for that long. Saw him first at Wacken 2004 and I was enchanted( I only knew a few songs from Holy Diver prior to that). Then 2* 2006 with Dio( intimate, small gigs in Denmark) and 3* with Heaven and Hell(2007 and 2009, Denmark, Sweden rock and Wacken.). His music will always be with me. He was born in the same year as my father( he died a few months ago). Life can be brutal and delicate. Cherish it..

*listening to Rainbow eyes* BEAUTIFUL.

Interested to hear what Andreas has to say.. since he is a fan, presumably...

Otyg covered 'Holy Diver' on record.

Yeah, I think Andreas is a fan...

Yes, it's truly sad.I really like his voice and his way of approaching vocals, so sincere and honest. You really believe him conecting to the lyrics even if the words sometimes are a lot of cool phrases put together(the early albums).

R.I.P

^ Congrats on the 1K posts :p .

That's true, one could always feel that he really believed in what he was saying. He sung with such passion!

I will always cherish the concert here. I will never forget when he got down (by his standards haha) and sang a part of Heaven and Hell, with the red lights on him. It was so scary, but I immediately screamed 'yeaahhhhhh!', and was the only one to do so hehe.

I wonder how his band mates feel. I'm sure Gezzer Butler is incredibly sad, seeing that he went to the chemo sessions too. I think Gezzer was one of those bandmates that were also close friends with Dio, such a nice guy.

I didn't get to see him live at all...

That's sad, he was a great frontman. His gigs were always way above average.

He was one of the best frontman, obviously. I never saw him but common he is DIO, I will never forget him, one of the best singers or the best I do not know but Rest In Peace, a legend, a legacy.

Some funny pics I found of the Master:
