ok, ive got an ibanez sr500 bass (pretty old), equipped with bartolini active electronics. it has many pots (yipee) but i use none of them. plus, the bass sounds like it farts 
anyway, i want to disable the active electronics cirtuit, and just keep the 9volt for feeding the pickups. and of course the "blender" pot that mixes the two pickups, a volume, and maybe a tone.
is this common? or am i overreacting?
the thing is that i bought it used from a guy, and he told me that his bass tech fiddled a bit with the active system, but didn't know exactly what he did. well neither do i
