Most of the discovery channel is garbage (except Mythbusters), especially when all the specialty channels broke off from it.

History Channel + History International + Science Channel > Discovery Channel.

what about channels like discovery science? thats the only discovery channel i get here for some reason.

and what happened to the shows about animals doing it? hehehe

My uncle says the H logo for the History Channel stands for "Hitler". It might as well be true, because half the programming is about World War II (or was, at least, as I used to watch it more in the past).

all of their shows lately have been about barbarians, which is totally my thing.

they should have a show about how these barbarian hordes have affected our society today, and then have a bunch of viking metal bands on.

I enjoy Man vs Wild a fair amount, as well as Myth Busters, Dirty Jobs, Survivor Man, and Deadliest Catch.

yah... some higher up at the History channel has a woody for Hitler/WW2... they still have those marathons from time to time... Hitler's Henchmen, Hitler/Nazis and the Occult, etc...

But anyways as for the Discovery Channel I like only Deadliest Catch because i'm into fishing and such... i used to like old shows that they no longer show like FBI Files and similar true crime shows...

Dirty Jobs, American Chopper and Cash Cab are all good shows.

Man vs Wild is shit. It's pretty much a survival show for Marine Greenberet Ranger SEAL CIA Terminators. "And now I will just attack this kodiak bear, and use my index finger to gouge out it's eyes, and then I'll just punch a hole in it's stomach. Now I can eat the heart raw so that I absorb the bears power, and I can now wrap myself in the empty carcass, which will cushion my landing after I leap off this gigantic cliff for no apparent reason".

Survivorman is where it's at. Survival tips that anyone can use. And he doesn't have a camera crew.

Dirty Jobs, Survivorman, Man Vs Wild, and Mythbusters

I enjoy both Survivorman and Man Vs Wild equally. I give Les Stroud credit for carrying all the camera equipment and shit around, and he eats, it seems, a hell of a lot less than Bear does. But Bear Grylls is pretty awesome. I read his book, The Kid Who Climbed Everest, and it was a pretty awesome read.

and yeah, Mike Rowe is the man.
