Disperse (Riverside's protege)

So I was browsing through Lasercd.com and came across Disperse. This is a progressive rock/metal band from Poland (or should I call it Alterna-Prog since skyrefuge mentioned it on another thread) that was "taken under the wing by Riverside and signed to their new label."

Riverside similarities are obvious, but there's also a lot for fans of Porcupine Tree, Dream Theater, Yes... I really like this.

Their debut is called Journey Through The Hidden Gardens.

Anytime. Stunning is an understatement. Hearing their music has impacted me almost as much as when I first Riverside's debut album.

This post reminded me to listen to this album some more, this albums so much better than other prog discs that are getting more hype. Haken's debut comes to mind.

Lead singer needs more control on holding notes (at least with that song). Decent imitation material. Better ones released this year already.

The only prog metal release I can think of better than this is Kingcrow. Granted, I haven't heard that many this year.
