Hey, I recently purchased DKFH 2 and I'm pretty happy with it so far except that I can't seem to get the velocity working. I'm not a midi expert, but generally speaking, a higher velocity is going to result in a louder sound, right? I'm trying to get, for example, a snare roll that starts quiet and builds up in volume. For some reason the volume doesn't seem to change no matter what the velocity...help?!

I don't have DKFH2 in front of me. But I recall on the DKFH1 there were different snare samples, and one of them was NOT velocity sensitive (at least in changing that samples volume) and the other two WERE. so play around with the diff samples and let me know.

also, anyone else had problems with the high hat in DKFH2 being REALLY funky with it's velocity fades? I had weird problems like I couldn't get the HH to get any quieter than full on unless I dropped down to something like 55 (out of 127 steps) and then it'd drop dramatically in volume compared to say, 56. weird...

so I just went back to DKFH1 for now.

I'm getting DFHS soon because I just cannot get the snare rolls I want out of DFH2. They just don't sound right to me. I've had MIDI freaks come over and try to work it but they are like "it *should* be doing it...but it's not."

The thing with DFH2 is that it's not really from ToonTrack. It's from EastWest/QL, they just took samples from Superior and made JUST the metal kits only version. Which is why when you try to contact ToonTrack about questions, they direct you to EWQL. Luckily though, TT has a section on it's forum for DFH2 and some of the guys who are on the development team for Superior and all the other TT programs frequent that forum and try to help. I haven't had much luck on that forum though.

The velocity changing and randomizing on Superior compared to 2 is like night day. On Superior it just works.
