Do you think the addition of Roope screwed up the chemistry of the band?

It is really so sad, maybe Alexi is going the Metallica route (ouch).

Alexi is NOT going to follow Metallica's BAD example. Alexi is a brilliant guitarist and composer, and he might be having trouble right now but I'm sure in the end he'll be back to his hatebreeder/FTR talent

You have no right to say such things about Alexi, because he's so much better than the Metallica guys.. and CoB are not gonna become country like what happened to Metallica...

Easy there killer, in the US we have a first amendment right to bash Alexi. Seriously tho Alexi will never go back to Hatebreeder writing, you've gotta be kidding me. Alexi has said a million times that he is done with that kind of music.

where the fuck did you hear that? That's not even close to what he has said. What he has said is that he doesn't choose the musicstyle, it just comes naturally, but that doesn't mean that he's never going back to neoclassical.

Yeah this is true.

Said something about when he wrote the music, the neo classical influenced melodies didn't really feel necessary or some shit, not that he didn't like it anymore.

Even though AYDY still has more of it that any other band in Drop C.

I love that instructional video! Alexi is so hot in it! Or actually, i'v only seen the ALexi Laiho thrash course ones. THey were pretty awsome. I like it when he talks.

What! COB isn't gonna be like Metallica!!! No way in hell! They are not gonna become one of those bands that completely changes. They are alwayz gonna have the greatest guitar/keyboard solos and ALexi vocals alwayz changes so you never know how they might sound next.

Never seen him say anything like that, but it might be true, sorry if i sounded like an asshole, but i hate people who just pull out facts from their ass, even if it wasn't like that now. But anyways, if alexi really said that the neoclassical sound isn't "necessary" anymore, then i highly doubt that the next album is gonna be in pair with HB/FTR.

I've definitely read interviews in Guitar World where Alexi describes his idea of what Bodom's sound is. He talked about how much he hates labels in general (expecially when ppl label Bodom as Power Metal), but he goes on to say that he doesn't even believe that Bodom is neoclassical anymore specifically since Hatebreeder. Will he ever go back? Perhaps, but if the last 3 albums indicate anything, its that the technicallity of the songs are not as important as they once were. Alexi likes the hardcore sound now, but even FTR was not even close to being neoclassical, not a single riff I can think of.

^Agreed! Alexi does like the hardcore sound more now and after listening to AYDY a billion times, i love that they do it too. I just hope the next album will still have the solos with keyboards.
