The past is over, the more recent stuff effects us but what you're reffering to is not. There would be no north american if it wasn't for christians. Church doesn't pay taxes because they do a lot of charity work, so I think it's fair. If the church does none then they should have to, there should be some sort of standard that makes them exempt.
