Alright, now I need to see some photos because the floor looked full when I left. The bar certainly was!

(I'm starting to think I have "post gig high". Maybe I'm wrong about there being a bazillion people, but as much money as we and the venue made it was definitely a successful night!)

I didn't take any crowd shots, but I never saw it more than about 3 "rows" deep from the stage. It looked like twice the audience for the last Firewind show, half the crowd that came for Adrenaline Mob/UTPOM and a sad fraction of what a Blind Guardian or Iced Earth show would do.

Your merch table was definitely jumping though, and your band seems to have some very devoted local fans. Congrats on that.

The question I have though is can people be at the bar at JAXX without having purchased a ticket to the show itself?

Many venues are like that, such as Reggies in Chicago.

I don't think so. Maybe the policy has changed now that they are Empire.

I doubt it. It would require people to man the two entrances to the main room, which last I checked they weren't doing.

Personally, I wouldn't have been able to go even if I wanted to. I had just driven back from Cleveland, where I attended a friend's wedding. I was pretty beat.

Course, last weekend was when EVERYTHING had to happen.

I have no problem with one cover song, but I'd like to know why after releasing a massive debut CD, Guns and Roses elected to record and perform live cover song after cover song after cover song. It's just what bands do. Heck, even Rush recorded a CD of cover songs and performed them live. That's the last band that needed to do that.

She says it's to pay respect to the band that took Warlock out on their first big tour. And it's a cool semi-acoustic version that has become a highlight of her live shows. And it's fun.

Nope, you're right about that. But the City Paper reported at 150-200 people, so hey, still not bad for a Sunday, and way more full than I'm used to seeing!
