Doubling Vocals for Singing, But How About for Talking

Of course. when I track vocalist, I like to double the vocals, and do pitch correction on each vocal track (four tracks per vocalist) and that works great if you have singers that can repeat their takes sylable per sylable, but how about when a vocalist has a passage where he/she talks . I find it's a nightmare to get the talking lined up, so all i do is just take the original track and copy and paste to the "double" track. and detune it a little.

I've heard recordings from pro bands throughout the years where the talking doubles just dosn't sound good at all.
