Well, I'm at home today, and low and behold who calls me out of the blue, Doug Piercy of Heathen/Anvil Chorus........He now lives in Dusseldorf, Germany(for many years now), last time I saw him was on The Gathering Tour in 2000. Anyway he's doing fine, has a wife and 2 kids, and doing the family thing.....we talked about old times, like Baloff in Heathen, TOTT, Anvil Chorus, & the 80's......we are both happy that we both lived through those wonderful dream years.....also he says he just started a new band 2 weeks ago, not named yet, but that its a guitar orientated, fast at times but with some Rush chords, thrown in, so its a cross between Classic & Thrash....Doug's one of the older Metal Heads around, so I've known him longer than most, since I'm ancient as well.........he's a great guitar player, & anyone who does not have the first 2 Heathen albums, you should........anyway it was a 20 minute phone call that meant alot to me, & I thought I'd share it........

did he say anything new on the release of the Anvil Chorus? Or Control? I'm as surprised as you. Doug disappeared about 6 months ago, and I think I've caught him on the AIM once or twice since them. Tell him I said hey if you talk to him again!!

Also, there's an interview with Doug in the new Den of Iniquity zine. Covers a lot of AC and Control stuff (he said he even quoted me \m/).

I'll tell him Pest, hes gonna email me, he did'nt mention any releases, but we just talked about the time period & experiences, & of course my view of TOTT, the real story of course....and the Swedish Explosion......he did say that he's really into Edge Of Sanity, I'm gonna check them out..........I really miss Doug, what a great guy........we have a metal bond that goes back to my earliest Bay Area Metal days, he's one of the first band member I ever meet, back when I used to see Anvil Chorus play around SF, that was pre Laaz Rockit days..........& way before Metallica even!
