We shall see, Glenn Tipton(the guy who runs/owns Willowtip) seems to have good contacts and gets albums months in advance through his distro contacts, but yeah in the past I have seen them do some stuff where they say they'll be in any day or such...

i don't really understand the point of a "street date" - if the album's available, why not sell it? i mean i'm sure it must have something to do with promotion and keeping track of the official sales numbers and that kind of thing...

street dates are important if you want the album to chart b/c it means you hopefully get that big rush of purchases during that first week. otherwise, who cares? distros need lead time to get stuff into stores, but whatevah.
