Dream Theater Set Lists

The new rendition of Surrounded was a highlight of the show for me last weekend. They sounded and played great. The keytar that Jordan busted out was badass!!!!!

During the medley my non-forum friend wanted to know approxmiately what segment of "Finally Free" is played in the encore. He just returned from studying in Europe and is suppose to go to colorado this weekend, but would cancel his trip if the right part of the song is played. Can anyone help me out here? I know it is really particular, but it is worth a try.

No kidding! This is exactly what I was trying to pry out of the whorebots posting on this board... to no avail :)

By the way... I'm really digging the new Dream Theater album. Its become my #1 album for 2007 far and away. Its years like this that I'm amazed Dream Theater and Prog Power exist in such different worlds. You'd think with the buzz Dream Theater would create for the Prog Power festival, there'd be some kind of cross promotional campaign involving Dream Theater, i.e. a signing or clinic by one of the band members tied to the event or maybe Mike Portnoy hosting the festival.

At the LA show IE played just about the same setlist they've been playing since the new album was released.

Redemption's set was the same as the one posted here earlier, so I don't think they're mixing it up either.

Here are a couple of pictures from the Dallas show. They turned out okay considering my digital camera usually fares poorly unless I am literally within only a few feet from the stage. I took about 20 pictures and I consider about only 5 of those to be acceptable.

I happened to have seats directly beside the team running the lights and sound and, after the Dream Theater set, they were kind enough to give me the setlist they had used. The lights and sound were dead on by the way!

Setlist:

Intro video / Theme from 2001: A Space Odyssey
Constant Motion
Strange Deja Vu
Take The Time
Blind Faith
The Dark Eternal Night
Keyboard Solo
Lines In The Sand
I Walk Beside You
Metropolis
In The Presence Of Enemies

Encore:

Shmedley Wilcox
I. Trail Of Tears
II. Finally Free
III. Learning To Live
IV. In The Name Of God
V. Octavarium

Dream Theater played about 2 hours and were fantastic (as usual)! :headbang:

Kind of dissapointing that they are only playing 3 songs off Systematic. I'm hoping forsaken'll make it's way back on the set list by the time I see them on the 20th.

I can't believe how amazing this show was! I've never heard DT sound SO GOOD! The stage set was really cool, the lights were impressive, and the setlist was terrific! The house was packed, but I had seats in the 6th row eventhough I bought the tickets only a few days ago! Thanks to the Redemption & Prymary cats for the hospitality! Redemption were incredible, too! IE was pretty good too, and had a warm reception despite the poor mix and nothing but red lights for the whole set. :(
