Yup, I've been to a lot of thrash- and heavy metal since mid april now. Strange that, since I barely listened to it half a year before that again...

I like it more than Autumn Aurora but slightly less than Forgotten Legends. It's good, I don't know why it got such a bad reception.

I agree completely. Autumn Aurora is good I think, but it has got to be one of the most over-rated albums of all time.

1) Forgotten Legends
2) Swan Road
3) AA

Astrofaes never impressed me other than one album, so the comparison doesn't work for me. Swan Road is far and away better than any Astrofaes I've heard as well as being better than AA at the moment.

doods, songs 3-5 might be the best 23-minute stretch of music released in 2005.

That's not true for me. It's pretty simple: I just prefer the songs on Autumn Aurora and love its consistency. Something Swan Road surely lacks.

Ali, I trust your judgement of course, but based on what you've been letting me hear lately, and the stuff of mine that you've professed love for, you REALLY need to seriously revisit this album.

It's fucking incredible, really.

OK I will. I mean, I bought it really early on vinyl from Demilich (it was released on LP before CD and he was able to get some though wholesale) that's how desperate I was to hear it.

Not bad but it just didn't match the greatness of their previous CDs. I can't imagine what you'd think of AA.

I was thinking the same thing, though from all the reviews I've been reading, I won't be surprised if this new one is MORE to my liking than AA. I've since put all 3 on my "instant buy" list though.
