DRUDKH - Microcosmos

Is anyone else familiar with this band's recent development among "hipsters"? Pretty disturbing. Microcosmos is so weak in comparison to other releases. Still better than Blood in our Wells, though.

I still haven't figured out what a hipster is exactly, but I think it's kinda kool that they're into art for the white aryan elite.

This my friend, is what a hipster is.

i thought hipsters were into mastodon, lamb of god, satyricon, southern lord's roster and other mall metal.

i put mastodon in the same category as current opeth and meshuggah....bands that appeal to hipsters because it makes them feel like they can say "i listen to heavy metal, isnt it cool man" and also the folks that feel that if you dont "get" the band, they are smarter because "they are so progressive and can play 1/4 polyrhythms on a 20 string guitar whilst sucking on swisher sweets"

yes, i've heard all three and they struck me as nothing special at all. i know im generalizing and i know people really do enjoy these bands, and i know im judging them somewhat on stuff beyond their control and im ok with that

Funny. Since someone posted that hipster-Burzum-shirt pic, I have seen not ONE but TWO hipsters in SF wearing Det Som Engang Var shirts!!!! GOD I WANT TO KILL THEM ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mastodon released one of the VERY BEST metal tracks of this decade: "Hearts Alive"

yeh those arent even close to Hearts Alive

i didnt start seeing any significant amount of 'hipster/non-metal' types at Mastodon shows until this year when the new one came out, and i go to shows in san francisco
