First I would like to start by saying Hello! :) and also that I am very new to the world of recording and production so sorry for any ignorance.

Anyways I have been trying to learn more stuff about recording and stuff and so I've been watching videos and reading different forums. Well I watched a video on making powerful metal drums and got an idea in my head from this and then searched some other stuff to see if it would work but there are still some things I'm not sure about and wanted to ask...

So the question is!

Can you use drum triggers to get MIDI data to put into your DAW and then use something like EZDrummer or Battery to individually tweak the sounds of your drums to get them perfect to you? in theory this seemed possible to me but i don't know if its possible. And if it is possible is there anything else i need to know about doing this? Please keep in mind I'm very new to all this.

Thanks in advanced! :)

Yes. You can do this a couple of different ways. One is if you plug the triggers into a drum module (like a Roland TD-6, for example) you can record the MIDI output of that and then send that MIDI to the drum sampler or drum VSTi of your choice. You can also just record the trigger signals like microphones and then convert them to MIDI using any number of plug-ins, like Slate TRIGGER for one, then send that to a sampler/VSTi.
