Drum only track for a new Underoath song

They're only chasing safety was in loop mode for 2 months after the release;)

This band is def different, you hear the work they put in songs and the record in general.

there's no way that video is actually from recording. It's so obviously just a video shoot, whether it was done in a preproduction sesh or after the record.

listen to those stems, the guitars are TIGHT. and no bleed in any of the tracks. It sounds roomy and vibey but definitely doesn't sound like a band standing around the drums with the amps facing in.... hah.
If anything, they might have had the guys playing along with the drummer while he tracked, and then replaced the guitar/bass after.

what i intended to say was... the main drums were recorded on 15ips tape... and the tom parts were most likely recorded at 30ips.

here you will see the roll-off difference between 15-30ips.

also, matt goldman uses a neotek console which can produce a significant amount of crosstalk... probably why you can hear the bass.

...practice.

A little late to the thread, just thought I'd chime in a few things. Drums were recorded to Pro Tools, no tape was used. Console is an old Sphere. Crosstalk is indeed there, but from Ben Grosse, the mixer's desk.

Can't praise enough the production and overall mood on the record.. As someone said the mild lack of clarity is the key here to the great vibe..

Have you noticed the similarity on the kick to LOG sacrament / wrath kick?

Bit more body and not so click heavy top end but definetely makes me think there might be D4/D5 under the original as I remember that's what Machine / Adler were using..? Anyway one of the best sounding drums for a long time..

Those wavs would be so great.. Anyone?

sorry to revive an old thread, but can anyone upload this now removed audio file? I'd like to get my hands on it for critiquing my drum recordings.

Had a hard time finding the stems myself, but finally found one link that still works! (However, it takes about an hr to download if you're a free user, like me.) :/

5 tracks, 44.1kHz/24bit wav files.

  • Bass
  • Drums
  • Guitars
  • Keys
  • Vocals
