There are some specific features I need, as a result the programs I already have aren't good enough (FL studio and Reason.) I need:

-To be able to import my own samples/sounds - Reason doesn't allow it
-For the program to have a looooooooooooooooooooooong sequence chain - FL for example only has like 64 steps before it loops
-Be able to have upto like 50 sounds loaded as one drum kit

Thanks guys!

I need to be able to upload my own sample/kit, guitar pro doesn't allow that. Thanks anyway...

I use Sony's ACID Music Studio. Does well putting together long loop sequences, MIDI and recording, though you may have to make some adjustments for recording latency with the program. Only thing it doesn't have is an equalizater for different tracks when mixing.

Take a look at Native Instruments Battery 3. It's been updated (obviously) and has a LOT of bells and whistles. You can use it with Sonar, Ableton Live (which I use for my audio app), Cubase, FL Studio, etc...anything that does VST/VSTi instruments or use it standalone. It's a beast to say the least. There are some others out there that are slipping my mind though....
