a quick answer would be really helpful,

is it possible to get a mic distorted that can handle 135 dB spl and doesn't have a pad when it is ca. 4 meters in front of the drums and the room is a bit damped?

please help me!!

- and say no hopefully:loco:

Tru dat....check your cables and the pre you are using. Any outboard gear running on that mic's signal that might cause this (comps or limiters)? Are you sure it's the mic and not the overall signal that's clipping?

oh, thanks for your replies!

no, i do not own these mics, but i want to buy them and i want to avoid clipping in advance!i wasn't that sure about how loud it can be in a room - so, you think i can take them, right!

thanks a lot!!!:worship:

135db spl max is even enough for overheads. You don't have to worry about that.
