DT+Dimmu?

Ur Jordens Djup? I liked like two songs out of it, I don't consider it to be any better than previous Finntroll albums, in fact I think it's a bit inconsistent.

i got the record and i still don't know whether you were serious about it. :p

Well, teh best one IMO is certainly Jaktens Tid :) :headbang: :kickass: .

Concerning the new one, I reaaaally don't like that much :erk: , I'll give it another listen and to see if I was "missing" something, but I doubt it :ill: .

The "problem" IMO is that it is more black-metal than folk, and we've always liked Finntroll for being folk :Smug: . I really like Korpens Saga, why? Because it's Finntroll folk :kickass: .

Isn't there plenty of folk later on, as well? My favorite tunes are all in the second half of the record. I agree with KC: dancing a necro jig is what I feel like doing.

Upon reading the above, my girlfriend took two steps away from the computer.

Haha yeah but still, I feel that the cd is more black than folk. It certainly has folk elements, but they're less present than in other Finntroll albums IMO :) .

Haha why did your girl do that? I don't get it..., I didn't do any smiley attack or anything, so why? WHY?!?

 :Smug: :ill: ( :p ).

It wasn't because of you: I mercifully spare her all exposure to your posts. ;)
It's the necro jig that caught her off guard. The idea of me engaging in one of those must hold all the elements of sheer terror.

Haha bitch  :p (you just in case).

Ahhh ok  .

I think you need to get your girlfriend drunk on rum and demand she join you in dance to Ur Jordens Djup. The day after I got it I was staying with my girlfriend and we put it on repeat while... spending quality time together. And dancing. Was epic.

She likes the record well enough (which means she'd spontaneously comment on a song from time to time: aside from the records she MUST HAVE RIGHT NOW - usually not extreme metal - that's her only manifestation of appreciating music) but I don't think I would... spend quality time with her to the tune of Finntroll. Agreed on the drunk dancing part, but it might be difficult: you can lead a girlfriend to alcohol, but you can't make her drink.

@rahv: i didn't realize that your gf was structurally sober. the pity!

and i wouldn't dream of spending quality time to a Finntroll record. it would go unnoticed anyway, because i just can't hear background music in the quality time phase (it is just me or is it a common trait?), but it would be distracting beforehand.

She finds it inappropriate for girls to get drunk, so she remains sober even in the face of mortal danger. Then again, from what I've seen, she's not very energetic when she's tipsy.

I'm going to be sober - in fact, completely alcohol-free - for at least a couple of months. If a certain connection between alcohol and a recent allergy is true, though, I might have to
NEVER
TOUCH
A DRINK
AGAIN.

And now, back to Dimmu Borgir and their fascinating coincidence.

@rahvin: your post in this thread escaped me so far. i am entirely sorry to hear. :( hang in there, and when we meet we'll have a toast with blackcurrant juice (it is actually very good, despite the absurdity of it).

@rahvin: alcohol and allergy? what kind of allergy is that, if i may ask? sorry to hear, anyway. :/
