Duncan JB vs Duncan Distortion test

Ok today I replaced the JB2 (JB with A2 magnet) in my Soloist with a Duncan Distortion. I made 2 soundclips and was curious to see which one you guys prefer.

The specs :
Maple neck thru with mahogany wings and maple cap, ebony fretboard and original FR bridge. Drop A tuning w/ 13 - 65 strings.

Same riff, mix, master, penis, everything is identical apart from the pickups. The playing is a bit loose, I apologize.

I think its obvious which pickup suits the guitar but my ears might be broken..

Interesting.

The JB seems to 'quack' for me, I always felt like it lacked balls in this axe. Ive done a bit more messing about this arvo and the DD has way more definition with riffing and shredding, can even get a decent clean out of it.

I will have to see how it sounds when tuning back to E or Drop-D.

I prefer the JB and the little bit more scoop in the mids. But i really like the crunch on top that the Distortion has.
