Dungeon - Resurrection
Self-released - 2000
By Ironcross
Dungeon's Resurrection is the first full-length release from the popular Sydney-based Power Metaller's. With influences from such bands as Iron Maiden, Gamma Ray and Helloween, it is obvious from the first bars that Dungeon will blow your mind with some of the fastest, most melodic, power metal. Vocalist and Guitarist Tim Grose has a great voice, which is unusual for Australian-based bands. A cross between Michael Kiske and Bruce Dickinson, Tim smokes! Even more amazing is the fact that he plays guitar as well (more amazing when you consider he sounds just as good live). The combination of Tim and guitarist Dale Corney, bring together a twin guitar attack ala Priest. Awesome!
Drummer Steve Moore and Bassist "Juz" (Now replaced by Dakk) should also get a mention for providing a good solid platform of fast beats and pounding bass.
Stand out tracks are "Resurrection", "Paradise" and "The Legend of Huma".
Also, having seen them live twice I really feel this band has something to offer to the rest of the world. They are very professional and have a brilliant stage presence.
Look out for a new release sometime this year.
