It seems that most of us, at some point, have tried to convince the non-believers. In my personal case, it would be my better half. I actually began the task with Kamelot's "The Black Halo". She was captivated by "Andrew Lloyd Webber-esque" (her own words) theme of the record, and thus a new fan was born. So, it follows that the DVD was the next logical addition to my collection.

Simply stated, this is the best representation of a "tour" DVD that I've come across yet. Most of the material on the disc comes from the "Black Halo". However, there are a few of the mandatory back-catalog tracks tossed in as well (See "Nights of Arabia"). Everything is well documented and recorded. Sure, there is a layer of post-production gloss thrown over the top, but it doesn't diminish the overall product. For someone that has missed out on the "Black Halo" tour, this is a mandatory document. Even the casual observer, would be impressed. The vocal performance is great, but the drumming is a little over the top (reminding me of a goofy Godsmack-era Shannon Larkin at times). Still, its not a total distraction. The guest performances, leave no gaps in a faithfull representation of the power of the album being supported. "The Black Halo" is Kamelot's finest release. Those of you that are on the fence about picking this one up, should be assured that it is worth the price of admission.
